At InsideOut, we are not exactly like a vocational school that focuses solely on career preparation. Instead, we respect and support every unique path our students choose after their studies. While many of our students go on to pursue careers in coding, some realize that they want to do something else. Regardless of the path they take, our alumni leave with newfound confidence, creativity, and valuable coding skills that they can apply across diverse career options. Why did you decide to join InsideOut?
"I was a stay-at-home mom for over 23 years, dedicating my time to raising my kids and managing the household. When my youngest went off to college, I found myself with a lot of free time and realized I wanted to do something for myself. I got married very young, so I never had the chance to figure out what I wanted to do. Getting back into the workforce was tough—I didn’t have a college degree and lacked the confidence after such a long gap. Then a friend told me about InsideOut. It was free, flexible, and I could manage my own time, which meant I could still take care of my family while learning something new." (translated from Bahasa Indonesia)
How has InsideOut changed you?
"InsideOut has transformed my life in ways I never imagined. It boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem, which I’d struggled with for years. I always thought I was bad at academics and never planned on going back to school. Plus, I felt intimidated by others who had college degrees and established careers. But InsideOut gave me a supportive community—especially my peers, who shared similar backgrounds. It feels incredible to be productive again, even without finishing college." How did you land your current role?
"During my studies at InsideOut, I took on internships that helped me gain practical experience. Eventually, I landed a full-time role as a Software Engineer at the same company I interned. Finding internships wasn’t easy, but the support from the InsideOut team and my peers made a huge difference. If I could do it, so can you!
